About Us
Founded in 1970, The Beach & Country Guild is an all-volunteer organization of women dedicated to generating funds in support of United Cerebral Palsy in San Diego (UCPSD) and the programs, facilities, and services it provides its clients.
Every element of our operation is performed by our members; there are no paid positions within the group. Everything from fundraising to finances, media relations to the planning and execution of our major fundraiser, Dia del Sol, is generated, planned, or procured by our membership.
Membership within the Guild is invitation-only. New member candidates are thoughtfully selected by existing members because of their unique skills and attributes that would benefit the group, and they will share our passion for our goal of supporting UCP San Diego.
Due to a unique clause in the Guild’s bylaws, all funds raised by our organization remain in San Diego county, ensuring that our efforts benefit our neighbors within our community.
With net annual contributions to UCP San Diego averaging between $150,000 and $250,000, the Beach & Country Guild is a significant factor within the annual operations of UCP in San Diego County.
A Message From The President
It's an honor to lead the Beach & Country Guild. We are an organization comprised of truly amazing women who share a passion for helping those in need. Our focus is on one thing: to raise funds for United Cerebral Palsy of San Diego. Though our Guild began 52 years ago, it has not lost any of its enthusiasm or momentum as the sole volunteer organization dedicated expressly to supporting UCPSD and its valuable services and resources for our neighbors living with cerebral palsy and other disabilities in the San Diego community.
Beach & Country Guild is always growing and changing, however, many things remain constant. We are an invitation-only group. This ensures we recruit volunteers who pride themselves on working hard and getting results. We always work together to make our signature fundraising events as vibrant and successful as possible. And our focus never wavers when it comes to maximizing our efforts to ensure the best possible outcome for UCPSD.
We are very excited to host our 52nd annual Dia del Sol on Thursday, October 21 at the brand new Alila Marea Resort on the cliffs of Encinitas overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. This year's event will feature a delicious luncheon accompanied by a promenade-style fashion show hosted in an indoor/outdoor environment. Following a year of quarantine, we are all looking forward to bringing this important community back together.
